Associate Professor of Pathology and Pathology Theme Lead at ARU's School of Medicine. Also works as a Consultant in Histopathology at the Mid and South Essex University Hospitals Group's Department of Pathology, with special interest in Dermatopathology, Lymphoreticular Pathology, Breast and urological Pathology. Additionally, I am affiliated to the John Fulcher Neuro-Oncology Laboratory in Imperial College London's Department of Brain Sciences.

Background

I graduated in 1990 (MBBS) from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. I was awarded a scholarship from the University of Oulu, Finland, where I obtained my MD PhD in 1994. In 1997, I moved to London, where I completed his speciality training at London University Hospitals, successfully obtaining FRCPath and CCST in 2002.

Since then, I have been working as a Consultant in Pathology in the UK, including my current post at Mid and South Essex University Hospitals Group. I have been in a position of Head of the Department of cellular Pathology from 2011 to 2017, then became the Pathology Theme Lead at ARU's School of Medicine in 2018.

I have vast experience in surgical pathology, as well as strong academic interest, having been involved in several novel research projects in collaboration with Imperial College London and ARU which resulted in over 58 original papers. My research interests are skin pathology, Breast Pathology, lympho-reticular pathology, renal and urogenital pathology.

Professor Magdy Ishak was born in Egypt in 1947, and currently lives in London, UK. He graduated from Ain Shams Medical School in Egypt and was trained as an Orthopaedic and Spinal surgeon in the United Kingdom. During his Medical career, he pioneered the work on lower limb graded pressure stockings which reduce the risk of DVT and Pulmonary Embolism in orthopaedic surgery, currently these stockings are used worldwide in all type of surgeries. 

Ishak was instrumental in the adaptation of the ISO 9001 in healthcare accreditation, he was chosen by his peers as an Honorary Companion Charter Institute of Management, he also teaches Healthcare management, was made Freeman of the City of Glasgow for his Civic work.

He is a former senior judicator in disputes between government and private healthcare providers in the UK. Ishak is one of the early participants in PPP and has three major projects with the NHS including the Neuroscience Institute and brain injury in Bristol.

Ishak is member of the IOD since 1986, and former director the Supervisory Board of London Middle East Institute SOAS University. Ishak is one of the leading entrepreneurs in UK healthcare, He is a former founder and CEO of Scotcare group, Crestacare PLC, and Covenant Healthcare Group, Optiv group, AA aromatherapy, and Chairman of Magdi Foundation Egypt, Chairman of MY Global Heart Foundation USA, trustee of both the British University Egypt and New Giza University

Ishak is the former Chairman of the Egyptian Medical Society-UK, Vice Chairman of the British Egyptian Society.

Dr Kamaledeen graduated from King’s College London School of Medicine, having completed both her undergraduate BSc in Physiological Sciences and her MBBS. She was awarded membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2020 and currently works as an 8-session salaried GP in North London.

Her interests lie in Women’s Health, Mentorship and Medical Education, all fields in which she has pursued and achieved further qualifications. She engages in teaching UCL medical students at her Practice whilst receiving Management and Partnership training to pursue her aspiration of becoming a GP Partner in the future.

Has a particular interest in Clinical Governance, setting up national guidelines and strategy, multidisciplinary patient care pathways and healthcare quality improvement projects. Strong healthcare services professional graduated from both the Royal College of Radiologists and Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh

An associate Professor, King’s College London with a proven track record in academia, and continuous commitment to interdisciplinary translational research and Artificial Intelligence (AI) . Executive council member of the BSSR (2016-2019). Executive committee member of the ESSR (June 2019-2021). Clinical Governance, Audit & Quality Improvement Lead. Imaging lead for the Hip services. Founding member of GSTT/KCL hip research team. Imaging lead for the Wrist and Hand services. Founding member of the AI initiative of the ESSR. Active member in the London School of Clinical Radiology: London Deanery. Educational Supervisor for undergraduate medical students and Radiology trainees. An active member of the International Skeletal Society (ISS), European Society of Skeletal Radiology (ESSR), British Society of Skeletal Radiologists (BSSR), the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) and European Society of Radiology (ESR). Sally is an anaesthetist and intensive care doctor in London. She completed her training in February 2021 and is currently undertaking a post CCT fellowship at Guys & St Thomas' in perioperative medicine and airway anaesthesia and will be starting her consultant post in London North West London Hospital Trust in April 2022.

Her interests in anaesthesia relate to airway anaesthesia, general surgery especially colorectal and perioperative medicine and has completed the UCL perioperative medicine MSc. Sally's other interests outside clinical medicine include medical education, advocacy and wellbeing and honed these skills during her tenure as an elected as a member of Association of Anaesthetists Trainee Committee. She has subsequently served as Honorary Secretary of the committee for 2 years before taking on the role of Chair between July 2018 and September 2020. After stepping down as chair, Sally was awarded the prestigious Association of Anaesthetists Anniversary Medal for services to the organisation.
